Ingredion to acquire controlling stake in stevia sweeteners producer PureCircle

USA – Plant-based ingredient solutions provider, Ingredion has reached an agreement to acquire a controlling 75% stake in PureCircle, one of the leading producers and innovators of stevia sweeteners for the global food and beverage industries.  The companies did not reveal the financial details of the proposed acquisition but said that the deal has been approved by the boards of both companies. Ingredion posts slight growth in Q3 sales, lowers earnings guidance amid trade uncertainties

USA – Ingredion reported a slight growth in sales to US$1.457 billion from US$1.450 billion during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2019 on improved price/mix and volume growth which were partially offset by foreign currency impacts. CANADA – Ingredion, Inc. has unveiled plans of increasing its investment in Canada-based Verdient Foods to US$185 million from US$140 million by the end of 2020.
