Palsgaard acquires Turkish food ingredients distributor in European growth drive

TURKEY – Palsgaard, a Danish emulsifier ingredients supplier, has acquired Teknaroma, a Turkish food ingredients distributor enabling the company to augment its European operations and shore up sales. The companies did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. However, Palsgaard revealed that it will acquire 90% of the Teknaroma shares, with Teknaroma’s previous owners retaining 10%. ASIA – Turkey’s food exports to China have risen 100% from US$72 million in 2014 to US$144 million realised by the end of 2017, according to the Aegean Exporters Association. USA – A salmonella outbreak linked to raw turkey has affected 90 people in 26 states, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
