Tanmiah Food Company to partner CDI, to build 100 poultry broiler houses in Saudi Arabia

SAUDI ARABIA – Tanmiah Food Company (2281 on the Saudi Exchange) has entered into a strategic agreement with Chengdu Design & Research Institute (CDI) to construct 100 poultry broiler houses across Saudi Arabia.

CDI, a Chinese contractor firm, specializes in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) solutions and operates in both China and Saudi Arabia.

The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony held at Tanmiah’s headquarters.

This initiative is part of Tanmiah’s broader strategy to enhance food security and reduce dependence on imported poultry products, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives.

Under the agreement, Tanmiah’s subsidiary, Agricultural Development Company (ADC), will oversee the construction and equipping of the facilities.

The project will feature automation and advanced Industry 4.0 technologies, with a focus on sustainability, operational efficiency, and animal welfare.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2025, with completion expected by December 2026.

Once operational, the broiler houses will significantly increase the company’s production capacity, contributing to Saudi Arabia’s goal of achieving self-sufficiency in poultry production and supporting the local economy.

Following the signing, CDI representatives participated in a tree-planting event at the One Million Tree project site in Shagra, Riyadh.

This initiative, part of the Saudi Green Initiative, highlights Tanmiah’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Zulfiqar Hamadani, Group CEO of Tanmiah, stated that the partnership aligns with the company’s objective to modernize agricultural infrastructure and support the Kingdom’s food security goals.

He emphasized the integration of advanced farming technologies and sustainable practices to enhance local food production and supply chains.

The facilities are expected to begin commercial operations by January 2027, marking a key milestone in Tanmiah’s efforts to strengthen its domestic production capabilities.

Founded in 1962, Tanmiah Food Company operates across the Middle East, offering fresh and processed poultry, animal feed, and health products.

The company runs 128 farms, six hatcheries, three feed mills, and five processing plants, distributing its products in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
