UK- Tata Consumer Products (TCP), the consumer products arm of Tata Group, has named David Atkinson as Senior Vice President and Head of its UK & Ireland business.
David will be in charge of managing the company and teams across the UK and Ireland in his new position as country head.
This includes developing and executing a growth roadmap for the company as well as enhancing operational excellence.
TCP’s dedication to bolstering and expanding its business in important foreign areas was reflected in the announcement.
Combining its interests in tea and ready-to-drink products, TCP will be focusing on strengthening and growing its three key beverage brands Tetley, Good Earth, and Teapigs in international markets.
David will be located in London and will answer to Gharry Eccles, the president of international business.
David joined Tata Consumer Products from the Hain Daniels Group, where he held the position of Managing Director, Grocery, and brings with him more than two decades of experience.
He formerly held significant executive positions at organizations including Procter & Gamble and RHM plc (formerly Ranks Hovis McDougall).
At a pivotal point in TCP’s growth trajectory, David has a demonstrated track record of guiding strategic transformation and offers extensive knowledge of creating and fostering consumer and challenger brands.
Tata Consumer Products has a reach of over 201 million households and the Company its food business to generate significant profits in the next three years.
Meanwhile, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. introduced a line of health supplements for women called Tata GoFit, a plant-based protein powder.
This is as part of its entry into the health supplement market and keeping up with rising consumer awareness of items with a health focus.
According to a statement released by TCP, the launch is in line with the company’s goal of driving innovation, bolstering its wellness portfolio, and growing its total addressable market.
“Tata GoFit has been specially developed for women and has an innovative and differentiated formulation with digestion-friendly enzymes and gut-friendly probiotics,” said Deepika Bhan, President, of Packaged Foods (India), Tata Consumer Products.
The company recently entered the alternative meat market with its plant-based meat category sold under the “Tata Simply Better” brand.
Chicken fingers, chicken seekh kebabs, chicken burger patties, and chicken nugget substitutes will all be offered by the company.
