USA – Tate & Lyle, a leading global provider of speciality food ingredients and solutions, has marked its fiftieth year of operations at its Sagamore facility in Lafayette, Indiana, US.

The Sagamore facility produces and supplies corn-based ingredients for food and beverage customers across the world.

These ingredients include gelling agents, which transform liquid mixture into solid food such as jellies and yoghurt, and thickeners, which increase the viscosity of soups, sauces and dressings.

Sagamore is one of Tate & Lyle’s two corn wet mills in Indiana, where the nearby Lafayette South facility also celebrated its 40th year of production this year.

“I am very excited to take on the role of Plant Manager at the Lafayette Sagamore facility.

Our facility not only produces the broadest mix of ingredients of Tate & Lyle’s US facilities, but also plays an important role in the local community.

We have a dedicated and highly experienced team, with a quarter of the workforce having 20 plus years’ experience at the site, and many employees remaining until retirement,” said Ken Daily, Plant Manager, Lafayette Sagamore, Tate & Lyle.

“Tate & Lyle’s Lafayette Sagamore facility has been an anchor in our economic footprint for decades.

As an active and engaged community partner, Tate & Lyle has played a positive role in providing good jobs, contributing to the tax base, and assisting in community development projects.

We congratulate Tate & Lyle on the 50th anniversary of production at Lafayette Sagamore.

We also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Lafayette South facility which is another important part of our community,” said Mayor of Lafayette, Tony Roswarski.
