Tereos opens customer innovation centre in Belgium to enhance collaboration and product development 

BELGIUM – French agricultural cooperative Tereos has inaugurated a new Customer Innovation Centre in Aalst, Belgium, aimed at fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration with customers.  

The facility, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and staffed by a team of experts, will support customers in meeting the growing demand for healthier and more sustainable products. 

The centre, supported by a network of 50 scientists, is structured into specialized teams focusing on various industries such as food, industry, paper & cardboard, and pharmaceuticals.  

It features dedicated laboratories tailored to each sector, a demonstration kitchen, and upgraded analytical technologies, providing comprehensive support for product development. 

Services offered at the centre include formulating or reformulating food products to enhance nutritional profiles by boosting fibre content and reducing calories and sugar. 

Additionally, the centre provides consulting, technical support, and training in multiple applications such as confectionery, chocolates, dairy, bakery, and cereal products. 

Michel Flambeau, Tereos’ Innovation Centre director, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing solutions that meet higher nutritional standards.  

He stated, “We have a team of technical experts close to our customers, who are regularly in contact with them to give advice, support, and propose future project developments.” 

The centre aims to deliver an average of 70 projects annually, serving nearly 150 customers and holding 300 active patents.  

Marion Hoff, Tereos’ sales director for Europe, highlighted the importance of adaptability in meeting evolving market demands. She stated, “At Tereos, we understand how relevant this is, and this investment underscores our commitment to innovation and product development that will allow our customers to stay ahead of the curve.” 

With its new Customer Innovation Centre, Tereos seeks to strengthen its position as a leader in providing innovative solutions to its customers.  

By offering tailored services and fostering collaboration, the company aims to support the development of healthier and more sustainable products, addressing the evolving needs of consumers in today’s dynamic marketplace.
