Tetra Pak launches ice cream solution for liquid dairy and juice drinks producers

SWEDEN – Tetra Pak has launched Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM, a new package that offers an opportunity for customers to produce liquid dairy and juice drinks using their existing production processes and market them as ice creams and frozen products.

According to the company, the new package allows dairy and juice drinks to be produced and distributed in small carton pouches at room temperature, and subsequently turned into frozen products in shops or in a consumer’s home.

This means producers can tap into the global ice cream market without the need for additional investment in production equipment and chilled distribution system. Want Want, a leading food company in China, is the first company to trial the product, according to Tetra Pak.

“We announced these new products to our distributors in early September. The response has been extremely positive because these products meet the needs of both parents and children,” said Wang Jin Ping, General Manager of Ice Product Business Unit, Want Want Group.

“Parents can be reassured of the nutritional values of the product because it is their trusted Want Want flavored milk without any preservatives, while children will be happy to enjoy these frozen treats because they are fun and tasty.”

The Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM package can be produced on the A1 Tetra Pak filling machine platform.

With a pre-applied opening using Micro Injection Molding technology, the package can be opened entirely by pulling the tab, making it easy for children and others to enjoy the frozen product.

The new package will be available from 2018 in the Greater Middle East, Europe and Asia
