ZAMBIA – Trade Kings Group, Zambia’s leading manufacturer of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) has commissioned a new milk processing plant at its subsidiary, Dairy Gold Limited.

According to the company, the new factory will produce a full cream fresh milk product under the brand name Dairy Gold, drawing its strength from the corporate identity which has been long known for producing dairy and traditional drinks commonly known as ‘Maheu’.

Speaking during the launch, General Manager for the Trade Kings Group, Mr Lux Subramaniam said, “We have launched the new processing plant for milk as part of our resolute commitment as the Trade Kings Group, to grow the business and provide innovative, quality and affordable products for the Zambian people and the region”.

As the global demand for milk continues to grow at a rate of over 3.1% and reach a market size of US $172.5 billion by 2027 according to Research and Markets, the Trade Kings Group has committed to improving customer accessibility to locally sourced quality, affordable and available dairy products for the Zambian people and the region.

This assures contribution to addressing challenges in micro-nutrients required and needed for healthy development of children as the new offering contains high quality protein, and essential nutrients such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iodine, and vitamins B2 and B12.

In addition, it aligns with its focus of creating opportunity of choice for the customers stimulating positive competition thus reshaping the dairy industry in the country.

Trade King has also indicated that it will contribute to the transformation of the milk Industry by empowering small-scale farmers through training and offering technical support.

“It is our endeavour to collaborate with sector players with an overall aim of introducing professionalism in the dairy industry whilst ensuring processors have consistent quantity and quality of milk supply throughout the year,” said Mr Lux.

The launch of the new milk brand was followed with the introduction of Brothers range of soft drinks comprising of ginger ale, lemonade, soda water and Indian tonic water under its Bigtree Beverages unit.

Brothers complements Bigtree’s portfolio encompassing everything from cola and flavoured carbonated soft drinks to energy drinks, juices, water and non-alcoholic drinks.

Other than production of dairy and soft beverages, Trade King also specialises in the creation and manufacture of confectionary, snacks, home & personal care products, chemical manufacturing and mining.

The company undertakes all these operations through itself and subsidiaries i.e., Bigtree beverages, Bigtree brands, Dairy Gold, Swiss Bake, Yoyo Fun Snacks and Universal mining & chemical industries Limited.
