UberEats inks product distribution deal with Café Coffee Day (CCD)

INDIA – The American online food ordering and delivery platform, UberEats through UberPortier B.V has entered into an agreement with Café Coffee Day (CCD) for food products distribution in India.

According to Coffee Day Enterprises, CCD’s parent company, the partnership will help in expansion across the retail sector, reported ET Retail.

“Coffee Day Global Ltd (CDGL) has entered into an agreement with Uber Portier B V, wherein CDGL is partnering with UBER for obtaining technology services through the “UberEats” mobile application in order to enable distribution of food products,” Coffee Day Enterprises said in a BSE filing.

UberEats, started as a small delivery pilot in Los Angeles uses a mobile app in food delivery and has partnered with restaurants in hundreds of cities around the world.

UberEats has been expanded to over 25 countries in over 90 cities covering thousands of restaurants globally, including India.

Expansions and partnerships

Bhavik Rathod, Head of Uber Eats India, Uber Eats is set to launch its second service in Andhra Pradesh at Vijayawada.

According to him, Vijayawada marks the 18th city for Uber Eats since the launch in India in May 2017.

In India, Uber Eats has partnered with restaurants such as Paradise, Cream Stone, Drunken Monkey, Seven Days, Southern Spice among others.

Uber Eats is an on-demand food delivery network, powered by the technology behind Uber.

Through partnerships, the company said they conduct training sessions for every delivery partner who joins their platform and they are also provided with an Uber Eats insulated backpack that is designed to maintain the temperature of the food.

Its services will be available in key neighbourhoods like Six Mile including Beltola and Khanapara, Ganeshguri and surrounding areas, Paltan Bazaar, Uzan Bazaar, Fancy Bazar and Chandmari.
