UGANDA – Uganda Breweries Ltd (UBL), a subsidiary of beverage giant Diageo, has announced the appointment of Patricia Kadama Anguzu as its new Human Resources Director, effective March 15, 2024.
Anguzu joins UBL from Tugende Limited, a prominent asset finance fintech company in the transport and mobility sector, where she served as Senior Human Capital Advisor, overseeing operations in Uganda and Kenya.
Her extensive experience in the fintech industry also includes a tenure at Wave Transfer Limited as the regional people lead.
Prior to her roles in fintech, Anguzu enjoyed a distinguished 15-year career at Nile Breweries Limited, where she held various key positions.
Notably, she served as Country People Lead from 2016 to 2022, overseeing the transition of control from Nile Breweries Limited (SABMiller) to Nile Breweries Limited (ABI InBev).
UBL highlighted her significant contributions, stating, “She was responsible for the people function in charge of attracting, maintaining and retaining the right talent pool, guidance on the people matrix, learning and development, organisation culture, union management and implementing a comprehensive HR strategic plan consistent with the business goals.”
Anguzu’s tenure at Nile Breweries Ltd also included roles such as Human Resource Operations Manager, Market Analyst, PA to Sales and Distribution Director, and Marketing Assistant.

The program, themed “Purposeful Strides, Scaling Hills in Heels,” was unveiled at an exclusive event attended by distinguished female leaders from various sectors.
Andrew Kilonzo, Managing Director of UBL, emphasized the significance of ‘She Walks,’ stating, “She Walks is about bringing women together and celebrating those who, much like Johnnie Walker, have kept walking in their different spaces and capacities.”
