UGANDA – Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), a subsidiary of the global beverage giant Diageo, has announced the “Love Scotch Affair,” a two-month celebration dedicated to Scotch whisky.
Starting on June 1, whisky enthusiasts across Uganda will have the chance to rediscover Scotch and learn new ways to savor this beloved spirit.
Christine Kyokunda, the Scotch & Reserve Brand Manager at UBL, emphasized the educational aspect of the Love Scotch Affair.
“This campaign is about unlearning and relearning everything we know about whisky. It’s about discovering new, fun, and exciting ways to enjoy our Scotch. I am thrilled to bring this experience to our consumers,” Kyokunda stated.
The “Love Scotch” campaign will run from June 1 through July, featuring events at some of Kampala’s most exclusive bars. The campaign invites everyone to join with their friends and family to experience whisky like never before.
Robert Nsibirwa, UBL’s Marketing Manager for Spirits, highlighted the campaign’s significance. “Our mission with this campaign is simple yet profound: It’s about exploring new, fun, and exciting ways to enjoy our beloved spirits. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a curious newcomer, the Love Scotch Affair promises something extraordinary for everyone.
We invite you to walk with us, to explore, and to celebrate the versatility and richness of Scotch whisky,” he said.
The Love Scotch Affair will feature all whisky brands within the Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) portfolio, providing a comprehensive experience for all attendees.
In addition to the campaign, UBL has recently implemented new technology to enhance its business operations.
In April 2024, UBL adopted “Diageo One,” a self-service tool that enables business customers to place orders conveniently and receive them within 24 hours.
Previously, orders were placed via email or telephone, but the new platform allows for real-time communication as long as there is an internet connection.
“The app provides multiple benefits to our customers, including greater efficiency and reduced operational costs, enabling us to deliver a superior customer experience,” said Emmy Hashakimana, Commercial Director at Uganda Breweries.
