United Beverage Bottling Company expands partnership with SIG to boost aseptic packaging capacity

New filling lines from SIG will increase LUBBC’s production capabilities and support the growing demand for aseptic beverage products.

LIBYA – The Libyan United Beverage Bottling Company (LUBBC) is expanding its collaboration with Swiss-based packaging solutions provider SIG to enhance its manufacturing capabilities.

As part of the agreement, SIG will supply LUBBC with four additional aseptic carton pack filling lines, which include one SIG Midi 12 Aseptic line, two SIG XSlim 24 Aseptic lines, and one SIG Mini 24 Aseptic unit.

This development aligns with LUBBC’s broader strategy to meet the rising demand for safe and high-quality packaged beverages in the Libyan market.

The company currently operates two SIG-branded aseptic filling lines used for its Safi beverage range.

LUBBC CEO Hamza Abubrig stated that the collaboration with SIG has contributed significantly to the success of the Safi brand in Libya, highlighting SIG’s technological solutions for the aseptic filling of non-carbonated soft drinks and liquid dairy products.

The additional filling lines will increase LUBBC’s local market production and enhance its competitive standing regionally through the adoption of advanced packaging technologies.

The expansion also reflects the company’s commitment to growing its brand presence and improving consumer access to reliable beverage options.

SIG Libya country manager Mohamed Eljamal noted that the strengthened alliance with LUBBC is a vital move towards increasing SIG’s regional presence and supporting customer growth through industry-leading packaging systems.

LUBBC, established in 2017, is part of the Whiba Holding Group and focuses on producing and distributing a variety of beverage products across Libya.

SIG, in addition to this collaboration, recently partnered with Plastic Bank, Carta Misr, and TileGreen to establish Egypt’s first full-cycle recycling system for used beverage cartons, reflecting its continued investment in sustainable solutions.
