Univar Solutions to distribute Kalsec’s advanced hop Ingredients in the US
USA – Univar Solutions Inc., a leading global distributor of specialty ingredients and chemicals, has signed a new agreement with Kalsec for the distribution of advanced hop ingredients in the United States.
Kalsec is recognized as a leader in hops innovation and has been providing the brewing and beverage industries with advanced hop solutions for more than 40 years.
The company’s line of advanced hop ingredients now available through Univar Solutions includes hop acids, kettle aroma extracts, customized blends, neat hop oils, and hop flavoring.
HopRival natural hop extracts reportedly crafts blends of 100% hop-derived oils to deliver hop flavor and aroma to brewed beverages reliably in every batch, every time.
Lupulock encapsulated hops oils are a natural alternative that enables brewers to accelerate production and reduce waste while delivering consistent, authentic flavors, and aromas.
This latest agreement adds to the current partnership that includes the distribution of Kalsec’s natural taste and sensory, colors, and food protection solutions in Mexico, Colombia, and Europe.
Kevin Hack, global vice president of food ingredients for Univar Solutions expressed his excitement to continue the successful collaboration between the two companies.
He added that Univar Solutions has dedicated industry resources and the infrastructure to support brewing and distilling, including incredibly talented sales and product management professionals.
“Combining Kalsec’s advanced hop solutions with Univar Solutions’ technical expertise, portfolio, and capabilities enables us to better support customers in the growing craft beer and other markets,” Hack said.
According to Hack, Univar also has solution Centers which function as hubs for innovative beverage formulations.
This combined with an unparalleled geographic footprint, and advanced logistics capabilities enable Univar to support the growth and success of our customers and suppliers, Hack explained.
Univar extends partnership with Leprino Foods
The Kalsec deals came at a time when Univer Solutions is expanding its portfolio in Brazil and Mexico through a new distribution partnership with dairy ingredients supplier Leprino Foods that will include a broad range of nutritional ingredients and dairy products.
Leprino Foods’ ingredients are found in a variety of foods and beverages tailored for health-conscious consumers including nutraceutical blends, sports and animal nutrition products and other foods, and commercial beverages.
“We are very pleased to expand our relationship with Leprino Foods beyond the US and Canada and into Brazil and Mexico,” said Hack.
According to Hack, Univar’s Solution Centers and test kitchens in São Paulo and Mexico City will be a key resource as the two companies work together to provide the innovative and healthy solutions.
