Upfield introduces Flora Plant Butter in US under its new plant-based brand

USA – Upfield Group, producer of plant-based spreads and butters, has debuted a new plant butter brand with the launch of Flora Plant Butter in the United States.

Flora Plant Butter is a vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free and non-GMO plant butter with a rich and creamy taste, according to the company.

The launch comes as demand for more plant-based products is rising with many industry players shifting their focus or including plant-based offerings in their portfolios.

“Flora is a culinary-inspired premium brand that brings a heritage of chef experience from markets around the world,” says Bernice Chao, Brand Lead, Flora, Upfield North America.

“The product can be used by home cooks and bakers who are looking to put a twist on traditional recipes with a dairy-free and good tasting ingredient.”

Flora Plant Butter is made from responsibly sourced palm, sunflower and canola oils, which give it a rich and creamy texture.

Moreover, Flora Plant Butter is packaged in paper wrapping, not plastic, making it a more environmentally responsible choice for consumers looking to reduce their imprint on the planet through sustainable foods without sacrificing taste.

It can be used like dairy butter 1:1 in cooking and baking, or spreading, without compromising buttery taste or performance. It is made with plant-based oils and no artificial flavors or preservatives.

Earlier this year, Upfield Group unveiled plans to invest US$55 million in a new plant-based research and development (R&D) facility, which will be located in Wageningen, the Netherlands.
