USA – Massachusetts-based organic beef supplier, Verde Farms, has announced a change in leadership as Brad Johnson, the current president, steps into the role of CEO, replacing founder Dana Ehrlich.

The company, known for its organic, grass-fed beef products, revealed that Ehrlich is relinquishing the CEO position to focus on broader industry initiatives, particularly advocating for regenerative agriculture and promoting the health benefits of organic, grass-fed beef.

Brad Johnson, who joined Verde Farms as president last year, is set to take charge of the day-to-day operations, define the company’s strategic vision, and foster a winning culture within the organization.

During his tenure as president, Johnson is credited with expanding branded distribution and increasing profitability, although specific figures were not provided by the company.

Dana Ehrlich expressed confidence in Johnson’s ability to lead Verde Farms into the next phase, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and responsible practices in the beef industry.

Ehrlich will continue to be involved with Verde Farms as a member of its board of directors while devoting more time to industry organizations.

In December, he assumed the role of vice chair of the Meat Importers Council of America and became a board member of the National Association of Meat Importers.

Verde Farms, which supplies organic beef to retail, club, and foodservice channels, has also announced the appointment of Rod Masters as its new vice president of sales.

Masters, with over 30 years of experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry sales, including his recent role as vice president of retail sales at Hungry Planet, is expected to contribute to the company’s growth strategy.
