UK- Wessanen, a leading company in the European organic and natural food market has appointed Emma Vass as UK CEO, having control over Wessanen’s UK brands including Whole Earth, Kallo, Clipper Teas and Mrs Crimble’s.

Emma who served the herbs and spices business McCormicks, as UK general manager, will take over from the company’s marketing director Gill Green who was acting as UK general manager.

She takes her 20-year work experience in the food and dairy industry from various roles she performed at Danone, Premier Foods and Mars Confectionery.

According to the company, Emma will work closely with the group’s team in the Netherlands to implement the new guidelines across the UK.

She succeeds Patrick Cairns who left Wessanen’s CEO role at the end of January 2017 to become CEO of UK-based ready meals producer Charlie Bigham’s.

“Wessanen’s clarity of vision and passion for its products and people shines through in all that the company does.

The authenticity of the brands here in the UK truly resonates with today’s consumers who are looking for honest, natural brands they can connect with.

“I am excited to join this dynamic and pioneering business at this key time and to have the opportunity to facilitate further growth and innovation,” said Emma.

Wessanen Group CEO, Christophe Barnouin said that appointment of Emma will further accelerate business development and help British consumers make more sustainable and healthier food choices.

Based on its future outlook, the company intends to improve its environmental output, ensure healthy and ethical supply chain and embrace diversification.

To expand its footprint as a natural and organic food brand, Wessanen boosted its high-oleic range with a new smooth peanut butter spread.
