UK – Wessanen UK has launched a new snack, Pop-Crisps to increase its product portfolio through its Kallø brand, which will benefit from the growing market of healthy snacks in the UK.

Made from nutritious popped corn pieces, including green split pea, yellow split pea and purple corn, the new snacks, Pop-Crisps, are expected to hit the market soon.

The four flavors include Himalayan pink salt and hint of black pepper, sea salt and Sicilian lemon vinegar, sour cream and dill, and wasabi and soy sauce.

“We passionately believe that consumers shouldn’t have to sacrifice on taste in favour of health, so we’re very excited to be introducing the world to our new Pop-Crisps – the new healthier, tastier addition to snacking-on-the-go from Kallø. Bursting with adventurous and incredible flavour, it’s an exciting addition to the healthier snacking category.

In line with Kallø’s brand ethos, the new Pop-Crisps are gluten free and made with only the finest natural ingredients using simple processes.

They contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans,” said Hayley Murgett, Kallø brand controller at Wessanen UK.

Wessanen UK has also been on the front-line to innovative food products with emergence of a new pool of consumers who prefer healthier snacks.

The company made significant investment to expand into the new market when it unveiled a high-protein line of lentil-based rice and corn cakes through its Kallø brand, available in the UK.

The crisps are available in four flavours and are said to be ideal for health conscious individuals who would prefer less calorific snacks as they were rated at 85 calories per 20g serving.

“The great-tasting new snack has a predominantly green rating on the nutritional wheel and is low in saturated fat, high in fibre and contains no added sugar,” said the company in a statement.
