USA – PepsiCo, the American food and beverage giant behind the Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Quaker and Tropicana brands has popped into the new year with multiple launches across some of its leading food and beverage brands.
The company has brought a new twist into its Mountain Dew, Cheetos and Doritos brands looking to provide adventurous consumers with a range of new products.
Mountain Dew with Zero Sugar
PepsiCo has introduced the new Mountain Dew Zero Sugar, one of the latest additions to its portfolio, touted as a new product that offers all the bold charge and flavor of the original Mountain Dew, now without any sugar.
The zero-calories beverage targets consumers who are looking for carbonated beverages with reduced sugar levels. It is flavoured with acesulfame potassium, aspartame and sucralose, and contains 133 mg of caffeine per 20 fl oz serving.
Nicole Portwood, Vice President of Marketing, Mountain Dew said:”This is a big moment for DEW. We are excited to give customers a zero-sugar offering.
“Because our fans are uncompromising with the DEW they know and love, we knew we had to pull off a formulation that would preserve the great taste of the original,”
“Mountain Dew Zero Sugar delivers on a bold flavor and ever-evolving consumer preferences.”
The beverage will be available in 20 oz. bottles, 2 liter bottles, 12-packs of 12 oz. cans and a variety of other single and multipack sizes in stores nationwide as of Monday, January 13.
New snack for Cheetos
Cheetos, one of the many brands that make up Frito-Lay North America, has also launched a new snack for Cheetos fans: porpcon, which comes in two flavors – Cheddar and Flamin’ Hot.
The launch of the new ready-to-eat Cheetos Popcorn marks the first time ever that popcorn has been infused with Cheetle.
PepsiCo claims that the new Cheetos Popcorn creates a new snacking experience that pairs the classic taste of popcorn with an added boost of cheesy, spicy and flavorful fun from Cheetos.
Cheetos Popcorn is available now in 7.0 oz. Cheddar bags and 6.5 oz. Flamin’ Hot bags for a suggested retail price of US$3.99, and 2 oz. bags for a suggested retail price of US$1.89.
“The only way to truly take popcorn to the next level is to add the iconic Cheetle, the cheesy dust that will entice Cheetos fans to snack on this popcorn all year long,” said Brandi Ray, senior director of marketing, Frito-Lay North America.
PepsiCo has also introduced a new Flamin’ Hot Limon flavour and a enhanced Cool Ranch variant to its Doritos chips portfolio.
Both available nationwide Doritos Flamin’ Hot Limon introduces fans to a new Flamin’ Hot experience, bringing the same signature heat but with a tangy twist, while Doritos Cool Ranch brings fans into a new era of cool with even more Cool Ranch flavor.
Flamin’ Hot Limon is Doritos’ latest foray into the hot and spicy food category, one of the fastest-growing segments in the food industry, on the heels of last year’s release of Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho — which became an instant hit with Doritos fans nationwide.
Doritos Flamin’ Hot Limon and Doritos Cool Ranch are both available now in 9.75 oz. bags for a suggested retail price of $4.29 and 2.75oz. bags for a suggested retail price of $1.89.
